My Review of Jalie's New Tankini Sewing Pattern; Marina #4567
But you're not seeing it on me, lol
As usual, Jalie’s sewing patterns are multi-sized which is GREAT! 28 sizes in one pattern! Sew, you could make one for you, your mom, and your daughters from the same pattern.
It means you can customize the fit so it’s perfect for YOU! Choose one size for the bust, and grade to a different size for the hips. OR make the top in one size and the brief in another. Total customization! There is an option to easily add bra-cups into the lining, too.
My dress form needs to be adjusted, her hips are larger than mine. Here you can see the smooth V-neck that sits close to the body.
You have the option of having stationary straps or adjustable straps. They have elastic inside creating a smooth yet strong strap. The instructions for creating the adjustable option is on Jalie’s website. I chose the stationary version.
The briefs are easy to make, have a very smooth fit and are fully lined.
My swimsuit fabric was bought at Fabricland in Kingston Ontario, and was even on sale! The power net and the elastic was ordered from Emerald Erin, a great resource for buying bra and swimwear supplies.
Have you sewn swimwear? Did you enjoy it, too? Please let me know, either here in a comment or by email, yvettechilcott@yahoo.ca
Looks great, Yvette. I like Emerald Erin's products and have often bought from her. I notice that Fabricville in Fredericton is now carrying power mesh and in a variety of skin tones. Good to see.
I have made other bathing suits by Jalie and they have all fit well. My only problem is that the chlorine in the pool at the Y is hard on the colours of the beautiful fabrics.
Looks great. M
